Zune Arts Videos All The Rage

Microsoft has been a laggard at selling the Zune well in the past. All that has changed with a new and surprisingly fresh campaign that sells the Zune using indie tunes and animation. People are talking about this new, fresh move from Microsoft online.

At http://www.zune-arts.net you will find many experimental videos from a number of artists. This kind of fantastic art that is being churned out has viral potential according to some.

Microsoft Zune 80GB – Problems of a Different Kind

Microsoft has a different kind of problem for its 80GB Zune. Normally companies have problems selling their products. Microsoft’s problem is simply that they do not have enough Zune players to match the demand. The Zune was sold out in retail stores as well as online soon after it’s launch on November 13th.

This kind of demand was not something that was expected by Microsoft. As a result of this, their efforts were concentrated on manufacturing the Zune 4GB and 8GB models which are flash based.

A Unified Zune-Xbox, on the Way?

According to J. Allard from Microsoft, the Zune is likely to get more integrated with the XBox. This is a logical step since both are Microsoft products and are served by the same back end software.

In the future envisioned by Allard, people will be able to rent and buy music, movies, games or videos and play them seamlessly on mobile phone, portable media player or on their home entertainment center. To achieve this without problems to the consumer is the goal.

No Zune In Germany?

Stephan Brechtmann, head of “entertainment & devices” at Microsoft Germany, said that they will not compete against Apple iPods as of yet.  The German consumers are not impressed with the coolness of the Zune.  What they want in a Zune is added functionalities beyond what Apple has to offer.  Therefore, Microsoft hopes that the Zune’s ability to swap tracks using wireless technology will slowly sell to the German market.

Where Will The Zune Be In A Few Years?

What are the expectations Microsoft, itself, have for the Zune?  Heck, as a Zune owner, what would you like to see for the Zune in the future?  Steve Ballmer, Microsoft’s CEO, said that due to the growth in music services and the advances in the Zune, he is hoping to take away the marketshare from Apple.  As great as the Apple already is, Microsoft Zune has entered the market and have already taken some 10%.  So to answer the first question, CEO Steve Ballmer hoped the company would have gained ground in this field by then.  I think what he’s trying to say is that in a few years, he has high hopes that the Zune will be one of the top competitors in the music service biz.

Zune 2 Announcement!!

Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Design & Development chief J Allard hosted an event in Redmond on October 2, 2007 at midnight or October 3, 2007 for some of us, to present the hard disk and flash memory Zune 2.0 player. Betanews estimates about 2.4 million new Zunes to be manufactured during the 2007 holiday season and is expected to be released in the beginning of November. In addition, a new Zune Community site will be announced shortly. The new Zune would be thinner and will have more capacity. The flash players will measure 3-inches by 1.25-inches and are said to look much like the iPod Nano. The new Zune will be video capable, possibly include Wi-Fi and higher storage than it’s competing products. Also, Microsoft will most likely release firmware version 2.1 with the new Zunes per Engadget.

Microsoft Zune’s Auto Download Application

The new Microsoft Zune’s application may be able to automatically download music tracks to your device. The name of this new application by Microsoft is, “Automatic delivery of personalized content to a portable media player with feedback.” The name basically explains how it’ll function. In short, if you already have some tracks from a particular band or artist downloaded into your Zune, the new feature will trigger your device if new tracks from that artist is available for downloads. However, you must have Wi-Fi hotspots or some sort of phone capabilities equipped to your Zune device in order for the application to function. So look forward to October 16th when the new Zune comes out.

Price Reduction on the Zune

Some may have already heard that on September 4th, Microsoft have dropped the price of the Zune with 30 GB device for $199.00 at retail.  Microsoft already had this plan of price reduction in their book awhile ago but with the consumer satisfactions they’ve been getting, they’re expecting an increase in sales.  In addition, Microsoft is really expecting to beat their competitions including Apple iPODs.

Zune – Halo 3 Military Edition

Microsoft Zune and Microsoft’s U.S. Federal business merged to develop a special Zune. On August of 2007, they introduced a new version of Halo 3 exclusively for military service members- Halo 3 Military Edition. Soldiers who left for active duty on August 6 were the first to receive the Halo 3 Military Edition. The version comes pre-loaded with artwork, trailers, and music from all three Halo games. This exclusive device is available only at military retail stores as of August of 2007 and discounted rates will be given to military service members and their families.

Halo 3 Zune

Just a heads up!

I’ve been getting quite a bit of emails on what happened to Wired Zune. Why no updates?!

As some of you may already know, the last two months and the upcoming two weeks, I was and will continue to be extremely busy. 🙁 But I’m here ya’ll!

Starting to mid-August, I’ll be back and Wired Zune will be in full throttle! Maybe a Zune to get the popularity back up…? 😉

Thanks to those WZ loyalists! 🙂

Tragedy at Virginia Tech.

Yea, it’s not a Zune news, but it is a deal that is worth bringing up even if I’m not an American. As you are probably aware of by now regarding the tragedy at Virginia Tech., there was a massacre there earlier today and we’d just like to show our “prayers” to the loss over there.

We trust that the administration over there will properly take care of the issue and we just want to dedicate our prayers (whether a Christian or not. I’m not.) to the relatives and others who were affected by this surprising news.

It’s great to be social, but it also never hurts to give back to our community. Obviously, the global Zune community can’t, so leave a word or two for those who were affected. I personally just wish them the best for the rest of the week and I truly do hope that the VT administration will clean up this “permanent” mess that the murderer has left behind.

Zune Styles – The Social Powered Database.

Phew. It’s been a long time since the last post, so I decided to make a quick post about anything. 😉

So, the Zune world hasn’t been the most exciting for the last several days. But I decided to treat you all with a little update.

Wired Zune has been recently working on a division site of ours, Zune Styles. It’s a place where one and all can contribute to a daily growing styles, themes, backgrounds, mods, etc. for the Zune.

We’ve been receiving some great feedbacks, but the site is still in its BETA form as we’re experimenting with it here and there, but if you’re looking for some cool backgrounds for your Zune or if you’re a designer, we urge you to go check it out. We already have some contributions made by ZS users, but we’re hoping to see some from YOU!

Check it out. 🙂

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! Wired Zune and the staff would like to wish you all a very happy day with your loved ones!

Happy Valentines Day

Being a Zune site, we can’t really ever forget the Zune of course. 😉  Just incase a few people forgot about our post here, Zune is also running a Valentines Day promotion with quite a few Valentines wallpapers for your Zune. Not only that, buy a Zune for someone else and get a free pair of premium Zune earbuds!

Anyways, back to the point of the post. Happy Valentines Day! 😀

Don’t miss it!

Back in Full Power!

I’d like to first thank all of the readers who were waiting arduously for this day. I found a way through WordPress to actually load the ACP end of the site a bit faster, so I will be able to (hopefully) truly start posting more. 🙂 I know that a lot of updating will be needed, but I’ll get working on it straight away.

Thanks for keeping faith with Wired Zune. I guess it’s time for us to repay you now. 🙂

Thanks once again!

Sorry. We suck.

First of all, I hope that you guys are having a fun new year. Three
days into 2007. 🙂 I myself am not having the best of times, but I’m
trying to find my way through.

I’m sure many of you have seen the activity of Wired Zune drop
substantially over the past week or so. Many of you who’ve been
emailing with me for a while now probably know that I’m in S. Korea as
of. Well, recently there was an earthquake in Taiwan, which have
increidibly slowed down my internet connection to the Wired Zune
servers. The server that Wired Zune is hosted on is actually in
Dallas, Texas, which is the main problem. 🙁

No worries though!

I’m actually writing this post via an email. I got a friend of mine in
US to set up the blog so that I’ll be able to post on it through a
secret email. 😛 So here goes the first post using this feature of
WordPress! 🙂

To make up to you guys for the lack of updates recently, I’ve got a
few things coming once the internet is back in full speed.

– Comprehensive review center. We’ve got products from the Zune, DLO
cases, Vaja and more just waiting to be uploaded once the internet
allows us!
– A contest is actually already running at the forums for 5 DLO Deluxe
Leather cases for your Zunes! 🙂 We’ll soon be having 3 quality Vaja
Leather cases too! Make sure you participate in our forums. 🙂
– We’re also working very hard with the ZuneStyles staff. As you know,
ZuneStyles and Wired Zune are under the same network. All of the
backgrounds on ZuneStyles will be exclusive to ZuneStyles. Once again,
when the internet is going, I’m personally going to be contributing a
lot of ZuneStyles too!
– Forum shop will also go under its final testings and will open up
– The Easter Bunny is thinking of placing a Zune or two beside his
eggs… Look out for a possible contest too! 😉

I guess that sums it up. 🙂 Hopefully this feature will go well and I
won’t have to dehydrate you guys with no information for over a WEEK
again! 😛

Thanks for sticking with us! 🙂
